VBGRAMG Muster Roll Generator (MSR)

A muster roll (MSR) generator for VB-G RAM G. On the Print Blank Mustroll page, tick the panchayats and the works — any kind of work, with their own dates if needed — and GramG Ninja generates every muster roll and saves them as print-only PDFs: one for all, or one per work. Part of the free GramG Ninja add-on for Chrome & Edge.

  • Any work type
  • Any designation
  • Dates per work
  • Optional Skilled/Semi-skilled
  • One PDF or one per work
  • 100% Free

Each Proceed issues a real muster roll. Check the designation, the staff for every panchayat and the dates before you press Start.

What the muster roll generator does

Printing blank muster rolls by hand means, for every work: choose the panchayat, search, pick the work, type the dates, set the workers, pick the designation and the staff, press Proceed and save what comes out. GramG Ninja does that for every work you tick:

  • Any kind of work — houses, plantation, irrigation, farm ponds… it lists the works open for a muster roll with their code and name, and you tick the ones you want.
  • Any designation — Nirman Sahayak, Gram Rozgar Sahayak, Technical Assistant or whatever the portal offers; the technical staff is chosen per panchayat and remembered per panchayat and designation.
  • Dates per work — default dates for the run, and any work can have its own.
  • Skilled/Semi-skilled too, with the same tick — with Also Skilled/Semi-skilled on, one tick on a work makes its Unskilled muster roll (10 workers per form) and its Skilled/Semi-skilled one, with the number of muster rolls per work (1–5) and workers per form. Works the portal offers only for Skilled are tagged Skilled only.
  • Paste a list of works — paste the work codes you need (a column from Excel, or codes separated by spaces or commas) into the works filter: only those works are shown, so Tick shown ticks exactly them, and codes that aren't open are named.
  • One PDF for all, or one per work — real text, A4 landscape fitted to the width, more pages when the list is long; print-only, so the muster rolls can be printed but not edited.
  • Checks before the one-way step — it re-reads the form just before Proceed, never presses it twice for the same work, skips “No Worker Available”, and logs anything unclear for a retry.
  • A log you can keep — time, GP, work, category, dates, muster roll number and result, as a CSV that opens in Excel.

How to use it

Install GramG Ninja with Add to Chrome / Edge above (once). Sign in to the VB-G RAM G portal at block level and open Print Blank Mustroll — the portal menu calls it Generate E-Muster Roll. The panel opens on the right by itself and walks you through three steps:

  1. ① Who signs — choose the designation and each panchayat's technical staff. Leave the panchayats you don't work on blank. This is needed only once; next time the panel skips straight to step ②.
  2. ② What to print — tick the panchayats for this run; their works load by themselves. Enter Date From / Date To, tick Also Skilled/Semi-skilled if you need those, then tick the works — one tick per work, or paste a list of work codes into the filter and press Tick shown. Press 📅 on a work to give it its own dates, and choose One PDF for all or One PDF per work.
  3. ③ Run — read the summary and press Start. Keep the tab open; you can Stop any time and Resume later. The PDFs land in your Downloads folder — per work as each panchayat finishes, or the single PDF when the run ends. New run takes you back to step ②.

The first time you open it, the panel shows these three steps in a short welcome card; the ? in its title bar brings the card back.

Keep a person in the loop. Automated entry can make mistakes; the tool assists, it does not replace you. Check the results on the portal. Use at your own responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a VBGRAMG muster roll (MSR) generator?

Yes. It generates muster rolls (MSR; মাস্টার রোল in Bengali, मस्टर रोल in Hindi) on the VB-G RAM G portal for the works you tick and saves them as PDFs. It used to be called the generate and print muster roll automation, after the portal page it works on. On the VB-G RAM G “Print Blank Mustroll” page you tick the panchayats, load the works that are open for a muster roll and tick the ones you want — any kind of work, not only houses. For each one it fills the form, presses Proceed and adds the muster roll the portal generates to your PDF.

Which designation and staff does it use?

The one you choose. The panel lists the designations the portal offers (Nirman Sahayak, Gram Rozgar Sahayak, Technical Assistant and so on); pick one, then the technical staff for each panchayat. The staff is remembered per panchayat and designation, so you set it once.

Can different works have different dates?

Yes. Set default Date From / Date To for the run, then press the 📅 on any work in the list to give it its own dates. Works without their own dates use the run’s dates.

What about Skilled/Semi-skilled muster rolls?

Tick “Also Skilled/Semi-skilled”. Then one tick on a work makes its Unskilled muster roll and its Skilled/Semi-skilled one; works the portal offers only for Skilled are tagged “Skilled only”. For Skilled the portal asks two things instead of designation and staff: how many muster rolls to print per work (1 to 5, the panel starts at 1) and how many workers per form (5 by default).

What PDFs do I get?

You choose in the panel: One PDF for all (every muster roll of the run in one file, saved when the run ends) or One PDF per work (named like MusterRolls-3206003006-IF-IAY-5041508-2026-10-20.pdf, saved as each panchayat finishes). The pages are real text, A4 landscape fitted to the width; a long muster roll runs onto more pages with the header repeated. The PDFs are print-only: they open and print normally but cannot be edited. “PDFs so far” saves what is ready at any time.

What if a work has no workers for my dates?

The portal answers “No Worker Available”; the tool skips that work and says so in the log. If the portal answers something unclear, the work is marked “unclear” and you can retry it after checking.

Is pressing Proceed reversible?

No. Each Proceed issues a real muster roll on the portal. Check the designation, staff and dates before you press Start; the panel lists them in its confirmation and stops with an alert if a ticked panchayat has no staff.

Does it send any of my data anywhere?

The portal data you work with stays in your own browser. GramG Ninja sends VisionTech only a short daily usage count — which tools were used, how many records they handled, the version and the Panchayats worked on — never names, job cards, Aadhaar or bank details. For the live counter on this page it also sends one short note per muster roll it generates, with the Panchayat code, the work code and the muster roll number — all public on the portal. One switch in Settings turns both off. The full privacy policy is at deowb.subho.net/tools/gramg-ninja/privacy/. The PDFs stay on your computer.

Is it official?

No. GramG Ninja is an independent tool by VisionTech. It is not a government product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NIC or the Ministry of Rural Development. It only does what you would do yourself, in your own signed-in session.

Earlier steps: IAY activity automation and the 4A Automator for the Work Demand. Also: GramG Ninja — the free browser add-on for VB-G RAM G. Had the old Generate & Print Muster Roll bookmark? It now opens the Chrome Web Store page of GramG Ninja; once the extension is installed you can delete it. Your designation and staff choices from the bookmark are carried over.
