The first thing in the MGNREGA website is the new job card registration. The Job Card is the entry pass into the MGNREGA scheme. Also Job Card is one of the building block of the NREGA system. Let’s learn what a Job Card is? “Job Card” is a card that is issued to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA). The issue of NREGA Card provides for 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year.
Job card is not issued to each and every individual. It’s issued family wise. Here is two things which we have to keep in mind. One is the “Head of Household” and another is the “Applicants”. The card is issued to the “Head of the Household” / Family (HOF). All the adult member of the family can be “Applicants” of that job card. In rare scenario it can happen that a single person lives as a separate family. In that case that person will become HOF and also the Applicant. This type of job cards are termed “Single Applicant Job Card” or “Single Beneficiary Job Card.”
Job Card now becomes a legal identity document, that can be used in many places like voting, opening bank account etc. The physical “Job Card” is given to the card holder after the new job card registration has been done. So, we have to be extremely careful while doing new job card registration.
As a VLE you should not make new job card registration without proper forms / documents. A person can apply for Job Card in plain paper or pre-formatted Form-1 (Job Card Application Form). This application must carry a valid identity proof for all the applicants. The application form will be checked and verified for authenticity by the Prodhan or his staff. On satisfaction the Prodhan will sign the application citing approval for issuing new job card. The prodhan has the authority to reject the application citing proper reason. On getting the approved application form the VLE will make the new job card registration.
To get started log into the VLE login. Click open “D.1 Registration & Job card”. Then click “Not Linked with BPL Data” link under “1. Registration – Data Entry”. You will get the below screen.
Here is the details of each field. Keep in mind that only the red * (asterix) marked field are mandatory. So you can leave non mandatory field blank.

Father or husband name of head of household. |
| Family-Id* | On selecting the sansad you will get “Next Avail. Family Id in this Panchayat : xxx Village:xxx“. Just put the number you get after Village. Be careful if you put wrong serial next id will be shown after that wrong id. |
| Selecting caste (Required) | Below the family id you have select the social category. i.e. SC / ST / OBC / Oth etc. |
| House No (Optional) |
You can put the house no or skip. |
| Category (Should be given) | Select among IAY / LR / MIN category. Select all that applicable. |
| Farmer | Select one among Small Farmer and Marginal Farmer. |
| Date of Registration* |
The date on which you are making this new job card entry. It must be in DD/MM/YYYY format. |
| Epic No. (Optional). |
Though optional, try entering it if you get it with the application. Will be helpful in future. |
| Whether BPL Family* |
Must select Yes or No. If you select Yes you have to provide BPL no. So, better stick to No. |
| Family-Id as per Household Survey BPL-Census 2002 (Optional) |
I think you will hardly get it. So leave blank. |
| Whether RSBY Beneficiary? (Optional) |
If you select Yes you have to provide RSBY Card no. So, better stick to No. |
| Whether AABY Beneficiary? (Optional) |
If you select Yes you have to provide AABY Insurance No. So, better stick to No. |

In this table you have to put details of all the applicants who are willing to work. You have to put the details of HOF also. If you don’t do, then he/she will not be available for work demand. Put name of applicant as per the document provided. |

Here you will get the option to upload the family photo and also the applicants photo. I will suggest you to use “Upload Photo” module which is under “Not Linked with BPL Data” link. |
