SUBJECT : PRAYER FOR MINIMUM WAGES FOR DATA ENTRY OPERATORS (DEO) OF GPS
Madam,
We are the Data Entry Operators (VLEs) of all the Gram Panchayats under the District of South 24 Parganas.We have been appointed as per Government Letter/Circular bearing No:144 (18) Comp/ESST/WBSRDA (BRGF) /2008 dated 12/06/2008 under the scheme of MGNREGA Projects one hundred working days. But in reality, we have been performing all the computerizing work or data entry of all the projects that include GPMS, RHS, IGNOAPS, IAY, RSBY even the job which remain undone at the grassroots level since our appointment. We like to mention here for your information that we perform the computerizing work or data entry of the Management Information System with utmost devotion and sincerity. Besides these, we have been computerizing all the information or other projects including cent percent data uploading but we are ill and irregularly paid. We tried before many times to draw the attention of the past Left Front Government to our miserable condition but the then Govt. did not pay heed to our appeal nor did appease us by giving us the necessary approval and appreciation for doing work. And it is well known fact that since then we have been receiving the low salary say Rs.200/ (two hundred) or Rs.500/ (five hundred) per month. So we are leading our life with unfathomable misery being in dire need of minimum salary to maintain our families. Though the Govt. has issued the order of allowing or entitling us with skill wage in us letter Memo No:8754(19)/RD/NREGA/18M-05/08 dated 17th /19th December, our District Administration has not yet responded nor has made any attempt for implementation and we are left then at the mercy of our fate. Under these circumstances, we, the small paid workers namely Data Entry Operators approach the August self of this Govt.of Ma-Mati-Manush with the prayer that the Govt.should come forward to do justice to our appeal for better salary. We come to an end with a firm belief that this justice doing Govt. would give us minimum relief from this misery and suffering particularly in these days when everything sells in the market at a famine price.
